Choose Pharmacy


Podiatry

If you are struggling with:

  • Standard Foot Care
  • Nail Cutting
  • Ingrowing Nails
  • Verrucas
  • Musculo-Skeletal Discomfort
  • or, Fungal Nails

A Podiatry service will be able to help you with your problem.

You can contact any of your local podiatrists without a GP referral. 


Opticians

As well as your routine optical check up you can attend the opticians for other eye complaints.

If you have a complaint within the eye, it is best to contact a optician as they have the specialist equipment to look into the eye. 

Any complaints around the eye, you should contact a local pharmacy under the Choose Pharmacy Scheme first, then a GP if recommended.


Ear Syringing

Following recent Health Board guidance, it is no longer recommended to carry out ear syringing procedures. This is due to the increased risk of ear perforation. 

Private services are able to complete micro-suction procedures without a GP referral. However, this may occur a variable charge.

If you would rather be seen under the NHS, your GP can refer you to audiology. 

 


Dentist

If you are experiencing a dental complaint, you should contact your dentist.

GP's are unable to deal with any dental complaint. If you are experiencing a dental complaint and require a prescription, the dentists are obliged to issue a prescription under the NHS for NHS patients or private prescriptions for those who attend privately.
