Test Results

test_vials2Please call in the afternoons and give your full name and address, date of birth and, if possible, the date when the test was taken. Test results are generally reviewed during the morning following receipt from a hospital. The surgery is quieter over the lunchtime period and due to the potential confidential nature of the conversation, we prefer to ask patients to call us then.

For tests that the practice has ordered, please note that you need to allow 5 working days from the date of a blood test for the result to be available. In the case of X-rays and scans, please allow 14 days.

In the case of tests ordered by a consultant, the consultant will follow-up on the result, informing the practice at a later date.

Our receptionists can let you know the result of the test but are unable to interpret the result as they do not have the medical knowledge to do so. If you require detailed information, you may need to speak to a GP.

If you are calling to request a test result for someone else, please be aware that we will need prior consent from the patient to provide this information to you.
